About S.P.L.A.T

Welcome!

You've reached the official blog of SPLAT, an Australian-based ArmA clan.

A what?

A group of friends who play ArmA, a military simulation tactical shooter.

And.. you want to blog about that?

ArmA is cooperative play at its best, where the more realistic play means that Rambos are quickly killed and players have to work together. It's produced some very memorable moments that we've recorded, and by blogging them we make them available to everyone who wants a fun read.

So what does SPLAT stand for then?

The Special Purpose Limited Assault Team was named to indicate that we don't consider ourselves to be foremost among players of the game, or that we take ourselves too seriously.

How long has this been going on?

We originally started playing Delta Force in 1998. This was followed by Operation Flashpoint in the early 21st, and continued into the ArmA series.

Holy crap, you guys must be old.

We started as carefree twentysomething nerds, some of whom were married. Now some of our children have joined in, so uh... yeah.
